"Like a punitive meditation mantra": DECOMMISSIONED FORESTS return with second album INDUSTRY.
Recorded between 2019 and 2021 in the immediate wake of the band's debut FORESTRY, INDUSTRY marks the shift to a full three-way collaboration, with vocalist Max Rael taking up the microphone on every track on the album.
Throughout the eight pieces on INDUSTRY, Rael's lyrics deal with the ultimate existential despair, whilst Gardner and Vincent deliver the intense electronics and Instrumental bombast.
Much of the INDUSTRY album makes extensive use of analogue synths, performed live in the studio to capture the knob twiddling and frequency wrangling in real-time, with tracks such as DROP BRICK, A COMFORTING UNCERTAINTY, and SPECTRAL KLEPTOMANIA showcasing the band's mastery of light and shade: glass, concrete, and steel.
